The Hauni KDF-1 is the original Körber filter rod manufacturing machine — converting cellulose acetate tow into finished filter rods at up to 300 meters per minute through tow opening, triacetin plasticizer application, garniture forming, and cutting. It feeds filter rods directly to the filter assembler of the downstream cigarette manufacturing machine — Hauni Max 3 on Mark 8 cigarette production lines, Hauni Max S on Mark 9 lines.
The KDF-1 is the standard filter manufacturing machine for mid-speed cigarette production operations. Its large global installed base across tobacco factory operations worldwide makes spare parts and refurbished units readily available. For high-speed cigarette manufacturing lines running Protos 70 or Protos 80 ER, the KDF-2 at 400 MPM is the correctly specified filter manufacturing machine.
