About the Mark 8 Post-64

The Mark 8 Post-64 is the oldest platform in our manufacturing-machine range, and it's still in active service across a lot of factories for a simple reason: it's mechanically straightforward, built on heavy cast-iron three-phase construction, and cheap to keep running compared to a newer maker with more electronics to service.

It runs 1,800 to 2,000 cigarettes per minute through the Molins MK-8 'Post 64' body, fitted with a double colour printer so the paper prints to brand spec without adding a separate station to the line. A Max Multiroll filter attachment handles filter joining across the full format range: standard 84mm, 100mm, slims, super slims, and nano, all from the same maker.

Cigarette circumference runs 17mm to 28.3mm with combined filter-and-tobacco rod length from 65mm to 110mm, and the machine accepts both 220V and 380V power, which gives some flexibility on where it drops into an existing factory's electrical setup.

For a startup or a factory adding a second, lower-cost maker as backup capacity, the Post-64's age works in its favor: it's a known quantity, parts are easy to source because so many are still running worldwide, and there's very little on it that requires specialist electronics knowledge to service.

At the rated 2,000 cpm across three shifts, that works out to roughly 1 billion cigarettes a year, which is the range this machine is best sized for rather than higher-volume single-format production.
