Protos 70

The S7000 forms the continuous tobacco rod from blended tobacco and cigarette paper, running at 50KW. The M8000 attaches the filter tip to that rod at 20KW, and the F80 auto tray filler collects finished cigarettes into trays at 15KW, ready to move to packing. Each unit runs its own drive, so a fault on one stage does not automatically take the whole line down, and most servicing can happen unit by unit.

Weight control runs on a built-in microwave system, checking output continuously against spec rather than through periodic manual checks. On a machine running a full shift, that catches a drifting weight tolerance before it turns into wasted tobacco across a long run. Control runs on SIEMENS IPC or BECKHOFF IPC depending on the specific unit, both with active parts and service networks behind them.

Automatic quality control runs continuously at full production speed rather than by periodic sampling, checking for seven defect types: air leakage, loose end, missing filter, soft spots, hard spots, underweight, and overweight. Each fault type is identified, displayed, and logged for production analysis as it happens.

The 17mm to 28.3mm circumference range and 65mm to 110mm filter and rod length cover standard king size through slim and super slim on this one machine. A factory running a mixed format lineup at moderate volume can usually handle it on a single Protos 70 rather than running separate machines per format, with a tooling changeover needed when switching between them.

A reconditioned Protos 70 has already proven itself on a working line, meaning the platform's known mechanical issues were found and resolved long before this specific unit reached inspection. That gets you a tested, factory-proven machine at a fraction of new-equipment cost, with the specific hours and history documented rather than left as an unknown.
